MONTROSE – Andrew Burke, a band teacher at Montrose High School, was arrested Wednesday, June 3 on a warrant for sexual assault on a child by a person of trust.

Montrose Police Cmdr. Gene Lillard said Burke was arrested in the 1900 block of White House Drive. Lillard said the victim is a 17-year-old girl, and the alleged offense took place “over time from December 2007 to August 2008.”

Burke is being held without bond at the Montrose County jail.
