There are six candidates running for three seats on the seven-member Mountain Village Town Council. Mail ballots will be sent out on Friday, and are due back by election day, June 30. The polls will be open on that day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mountain Village Town Hall.
In addition to the global economic crisis that afflicts Mountain Village as much as anywhere else, the town is approaching its 15th birthday by completing a comprehensive plan that hopes to answer the perennial question: What do we want to be when we grow up? It’s no accident that every candidate, in the interviews they gave to The Watch, addressed economic sustainability as one of the town’s greatest challenges.
