SAN MIGUEL COUNTY – San Miguel County Coroner Bob Dempsey has reported four deaths in as many weeks.

On Monday, Oct. 5, Tom Williams, of Norwood, died at Alpine Hospice, in Naturita, of natural causes.

On Sunday, Oct. 4, Kae Skala, 56, of Dolores, was found dead in the West Beaver drainage area near Norwood, after being separated from her husband, Jerry, who was hunting.

On Saturday, Oct. 3, Barry Blanton, 68, of Yantis, Tex., was killed on his motorcycle after hitting a deer on Lone Cone Road.

And autopsy results are pending from Peter Margolis, 46, of Corte Madera, Calif., who died Sept. 19, while visiting friends on North Spruce Street, Telluride.

That cause of death “is still under investigation,” Dempsey reported, and toxicology results are expected “in a few weeks.”
