Pioneer Day Parade Planning Session

The Norwood Chamber of Commerce is holding a special meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 26 to plan the Pioneer Day Parade and related events. The work session will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Norwood Christian Church downstairs meeting room.

“We are soliciting volunteers to assist with the upcoming Pioneer Day Event,” says Chamber president Terry Esch. “This is one of the community’s biggest annual events, and we are inviting everyone interested in assisting with Pioneer Day to attend the planning session next week. It takes a lot of effort to put all the pieces together, so the more hands and ideas the better.”

Pioneer Day is TK and includes a parade on Grand Ave., the crowning of a Pioneer Day king and queen, a traditional community meal, and old-fashioned family games..

In other news, the August chamber meeting has been cancelled. The next regular meeting will take place in mid September. For more information, visit www.norwoodcolorado.com or email Esch at terence@sgeproperties.com.

Specific projects may include putting together military boxes for community members deployed overseas; fundraising for Thanksgiving meals; and a penny drive for Missions. Kids will also enjoy a Christmas caroling party, a beach party in January, and Valentine’s day acticities.
